Elli Elisabeth West

Our amazing mother Elli Elisabeth Bosin Norton West 85, died peacefully at her home Thursday November 15, 2012. She was born in Berlin, Germany on September 18, 1927 the only child of Richard and Marta Bosin.  She married Bob Norton in Berlin in 1948. They later moved to Salt Lake City, UT. Bob and Elli moved to Boise in 1964. They had three children and were married until Bob’s death in 1974. Elli married Paul West and they spent 36 years together until his passing in 2011. Elli graduated from Boise Junior College and Boise State University and retired from the Department of Employment in 1989 as a Systems Analyst. Elli continued to take classes at BSU into her 70’s. She was a lifelong learner. Elli loved to ski, shop, play tennis, knit and read. She would say she was a sun worshiper. She traveled back to Germany, throughout Europe and many travels in between. Elli was both beautiful and intelligent. She loved clothes and always looked chic and dressed to the nines, even when camping. She was a pioneer in her career as a computer programmer. Her recipes and notes were often written on the back of keypunch cards.
