Eugene Adrian Williams, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and electrical engineer, passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho. Born in Kendall, New York, Gene spent his formative years in both New York and Florida. He was the son of Thomas Randle Williams and Helen Irene Kruckenberg (Williams).
In 1963, Gene proudly joined the U.S. Navy, where he served alongside his brothers, Steve and Richard. During his tenure, he worked as an electrical engineer and completed his service in 1967 while helping to decommission the USS Leahy in Pennsylvania. It was there he met his first love, Joan Louise Kenny. They married on August 15, 1968, and built a life together, raising two beautiful children, Eugene Adrian and Jennifer Eva.
Gene's professional journey began with Hewlett-Packard in Philadelphia, where his passion for innovation and problem-solving flourished. In 1985, he relocated with his family to Boise, Idaho, continuing his career with HP until his retirement in 2001. Throughout his life, Gene maintained a love for engineering and entrepreneurship. He collaborated with his brother Lloyd in their business, Williams Research Associates, and later worked with his children on a software company, Technology Associates, which evolved into Whizkid Software.
Beyond his career, Gene was a man of many interests. He had a deep curiosity for non-conventional scientific research, a green thumb for gardening, and a knack for home improvement projects. He cherished the intellectual camaraderie he shared with his brother Lloyd and found joy in bouncing ideas off one another.
After Joan’s passing, Gene found love once more with Jacqueline (Jackie) Ince, whom he married on December 10, 2022, in Hudson, Florida. Together, they created a life filled with shared adventures, enjoying long walks, workouts, evenings out, and working on their home and yard.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie; his children, Eugene Williams Jr. and Jennifer (Martin) ; his cherished grandchildren, Rhodes Webber Martin, Thomson Eugene Martin, Ian Anthony Williams, and Erin Elizabeth Williams; his great-grandson, Jack Shelby Williams; and his brother, Lloyd Williams. He is also lovingly remembered by his stepchildren, Jamie Strelnik, Keegan Strelnik, Devra Ince, and Rachel Ince (Fasching).
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joan; his parents; his sisters, Nancy and Dorothy (Manchester); and his brothers, Robert, Richard, Stephen, and John.
Gene’s life was a testament to his family, curiosity, and resilience. His protective nature ingenuity, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Idaho Botanical Garden, home of the "Boys in the Swing" statue, which Gene once played a significant role in preserving.
