Eugene William Ethridge

Eugene was born in Boise, Idaho to Elva Towler Ethridge and Cleo Ethridge. He, his parents and oldest sister Edna moved to Missouri in 1977. 

Gene graduated from Cassville R4 High School in 1981. He worked occasionally “bucking hay” and as a volunteer for his church. 

Gene and Edna moved back to Boise for three years (2005-2008) and lived under the care of their Idaho sisters. In 2008 they moved to Virginia to live with their sister, Mary. After Mary’s death in 2021, Gene moved back to Idaho and lived in a supported living apartment in Nampa., Gene had developmental disabilities and was proud to live independently the last three years after having lived his whole life with family. 

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Edna Ethridge and Mary Arnold and his brothers Marvin Ethridge and Thomas Ethridge (died in infancy). 

Gene is survived by his sisters Barbara Stone and Joanne Wright-Taylor, both of Boise; and Dorothy King of Overland Park, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Gene will be interred at Dry Creek Cemetery at a later date.
