Evelyn MaryAnn (Garrett) Lindgren was born 21 Dec. 1931 to Frank C. and Edna (Sterling) Garrett in a renovated barn in Bronson, Iowa. Mom grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, finally moving with family to Nebraska in 1944. She met Paul Lindgren in a hayfield where she was helping serve lunch to the farmers. They were married 28 Oct. 1948 in Walthill, Nebraska.

They moved to Boise in December of 1959 in a station wagon with five kids. Evelyn worked for a short time with Paul at Guerdon Industries making curtains for the trailer houses. She ended her curtain career to have child number six! In 1968 she discovered “Bowling”, which became her passion. Evelyn became secretary of various leagues in 1968 and held that position until her death. She also coached the youth bowlers for several years. She was on the B.O.D. for years and then became the local WIBC President, being inducted in to the BWBA Hall of Fame in 1989. Evelyn passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 in a local hospital.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, her husband Paul, oldest son Leslie, a grandson, Dale and a granddaughter, Shirley.

She is survived by her children, Doug (Delores), Ronald (Jill), Barbara (Jack Newberg), Ruth, and Donald (Lisa); grandchildren, Jennifer, Donald, Julie, Jeremy, Jason, Jessica, TR, Michael, Stephanie, and Evelyn; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaugther.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 10, from 5-8 p.m., at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will follow on Monday, January 11, at 1 p.m.

A reception at Westys Garden Lanes Conference Room will follow.
