Gary Lee Cartwright
(September 7, 1934 – August 26, 2012
Gary passed away on the afternoon of August 26
th
at his home, surrounded by his family, from complications of COPD. Gary was an
accomplished artist, rodeo cowboy, singer and father. He loved the outdoors,
animals and people. He especially loved cats and is now reunited with all the
ones that preceded him and can continue to spoil them as he did in life. Gary
also took his grandfatherly job of spoiling his grandchildren seriously. This
was an exceptional feat since he had 16 of them and over 15 great-grandchildren.
He was a loving husband to his wife Patricia for over 48 years. He will be
forever loved and missed by all that knew him. Gary revered and served his
country as a Naval veteran of the Korean War. His wife Pat, daughters Toni
Haslam, Linda Windley and Susie Neff, as well as sons Brian Cartwright, Clint
Cartwright, Rod Watkins and Wayne Watkins survive him. His older brother Jack
Cartwright, eldest son William ‘Shad’ Cartwright, granddaughter Melissa Windley
and grandson Jeffrey Watkins preceded Gary into death. He will inspire as much
love and compassion in the afterlife as he did in this one. You are loved.
Goodbye for now.
