Gary Lee Robbins was born in Galesburg, Illinois on October 26, 1944 to Clarence “Poodle” Robbins and Irene Whitehall. He was raised by Irene and his beloved stepdad, John Warren Crow. In 1962, he graduated from Winola High School and entered the US Air Force, where he served for four years as a Morse Code Interceptor. He returned from active duty and married Judy Scovill. In 1971, Gary wed Brenda Kay Parker. He was a life long bowler and an avid music lover. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum in 2006 and moved west, first to Fort Collins, CO and finally to Boise, ID. Gary is survived by his wife, Brenda and three children, David (Celeste), Denise (Matt) and Donovan (Kelsey). Gary was proud of his 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Brett, Chloe, Sophie, Zack and JT. Gary’s siblings include Larry, David, Debbie, Clarence, Viola, Melvin, Lucy, Debra, Peggy, Melissa, Dorothy and Josette. He is preceded in death by his sisters Candace and Rose, as well as his parents. Gary fought a brave battle with ALS and is now resting at home in Heaven. A service and reception will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 11655 McMillan Rd, Boise, ID 83713, Thursday 3/24 at 11 a.m. and an internment ceremony will be held 11 a.m. on Friday 3/25 at the VA Cemetery, 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cross of Christ or the D.A.V.
