Geraldine
(Gerie) Elizabeth Meuser, 95, of Boise, passed away on Sunday, November 12 at St.
Alphonsus Medical Center surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held
on Sunday, November 26th, 2017 at Parkview Christian Church in Meridian at 2
p.m.
Gerie
was born on July 19th, 1922 in Kersei, Colorado to Herbert Leo Ellis and Bess
Hannah (Bartholomew) Ellis. She grew up in Idaho and graduated from Jerome High
School going on to attend Colorado Women’s College and the University of
Oregon.
On
June 19, 1942, Gerie married John Carl (Jack) Meuser in Las Vegas, Nevada. They
lived in Arizona where he was stationed in the military. After his discharge
from the military, they lived in Idaho where she worked as a teacher. Jack and
Gerie pastored several churches in Oregon and California where she continued to
teach until their retirement in 1988. They returned to Idaho in 1989 where they
lived the remainder of their days.
Gerie
enjoyed card games, golf, and watersports. She especially loved time spent with
her family, and the most important part of her life was her personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Gerie
is survived by her sons, Ellis D. Meuser of Canby, OR, Gary L. Meuser of
Meridian, ID and Mark L. Meuser of Nampa, ID; 17 grandchildren and 26
great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Meuser; her son John Gerald
Meuser; daughter-in-law Carolyn Kay (Davenport) Meuser; great-grandsons John
Caleb Meuser and Bennet Lee Meuser; brother LeRoy Edmund Ellis; and her
parents.
