community December 28

1918 to George

ranklin Parsons and
Elizabeth Evelyn Brewste
r
Parsons. Her parents and two brothers and two sisters mo
v
ed
there from Minnesota and homesteaded their farm which was located
v
ery
close to the Snake River. Her father died when she was ten years old and she
and her mother continued to work on their farm. She was a wonderful help to her
mother during this time. Following her graduation from Wilder High School in
1
937
she attended the Merritt School of Business in Oakland
,
California.
On returning to Idaho she went to

lephone Compan
y
. She married Re
x
Walters
of Nyssa
,
Oregon in July 1939. Following their marriage she was employed
at a small airport out of Nyssa and Ontario
,
Oregon
where she worked in the office and did dispatching. In 1944 Rex joined the Army
and Geraldi
n
e and their daughter, Brenda, moved to Alameda, California
.
While
there Geraldine worked for Matson Navigation Shipyard. Following World War II
and after Rex
'
s discharge from the Army they moved back to Boise
.
Although
their marriage later ended in divorce they remained good friends throughout
their lives. On January 1
,
1956 Geraldine married
Bill Tomlinson
.
Geraldine worked for the Boise Employment Office and Fleishman
Lumber Company before being hired by the Veteran's Administration in the
Adjudication Department
.
A
fter retiring from the VA she worked for a short time at Boise
State in the Admissions Office. After her husband retired and since they both
disliked the winter Idaho weather, the
y
purchased
property in southern California where they spent many winters enjoying the sun
,
warm
weather and friends and family
.
Geraldine was a past member of Iras Temple #40 Daughters of The
Nile and a life member of The Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter 8
.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband
,
Bill
(Tommy) Tomlinson; her brothers George and Charlie Parsons; her sisters Ruth
(Tom) Campbell and Myrtle (Jim) Adcock
.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Chick) Anderson;
granddaughters Deborah Lee
,
Theresa (Russ) Poe, Linda
(Jeff) Stanley, Sandra (Don) Lee
,
and
grandson Kevin (Monica) Anderson; 13 great-

r
andchildren
and 3 great-great grandchildren
;
and her nephews Frank
(Donna) Adcock of Boise and George (Bea
)
Campbell
of California.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 24, from 7-9 p.m. at
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Thursday,
July 25, at 9 a.m. at Cloverdale Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at
10:30 a.m., at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
