Gladys Elaine Pope Gugelman passed into the arms of Jesus, Oct. 11, 2011. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Boise.

Born January 5, 1911 in Osmond, NB to Warren and Edith Tilton; married Roy Dudley Pope March 1, 1936 at the First Baptist Church in Boise, ID. They had two daughters. An inventor of parachutes, Dudley met his death March 20, 1943 testing a parachute, as Gladys watched. On Oct. 30, 1944 she married Pat Gugelman and they had a son. They lived in Twin Falls for 46 yrs before moving to Boise. Mom will be remembered for her Sunday dinners, chocolate cake and apple pies. She had a servant’s heart and was a humble and hard working lady always helping someone else. She was a sales clerk, painted houses with her friend Ruthie in the summer, and became an elementary school librarian after she got her GED at the age of 56. She was devoted to her family, had a strong faith and loved the Lord. She spent many hours serving at her church.

Gladys is survived by her children Phyllis (Gene) Pullman of Boise, Myrna (Ernie) Austin, Las Vegas, Wayne (Gwen) Gugelman, Wellsville, UT; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren with 3 more on the way! She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers (Harold, Dwight, Glone, LeRoy, Jim), husband, Pat and son-in-law, Ernie.

Donations are suggested to Twin Falls Baptist Church or Boise First Baptist Church for camp scholarships. The family extends a special thank you to Good Samaritan Society for their wonderful care of our mom.
