Gladys Marie Finch, beloved mother, grandmother and friend peacefully
went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2012 at Saint Alphonsus
Hospital. At her passing she was
surrounded by her many loving children, grandchildren and friends who were at
her bed side. Gladys was preceded in
death by Donald R. Finch Sr. her eternal companion and loving husband of 35
years and her loving son Michael Lee Finch.
She is survived by her 8 children: James J. Finch, Donald R. Finch Jr.,
Edith M. (Finch) Wilkerson, Gene A. Finch, Elaine M. Finch, Brice G. Finch, Shirley
A. Finch and Iva L. Finch, 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2
great great grandchildren.
Gladys was born in Woodworth, North Dakota to Rose Nellie
Dotson and George William Nygaard. She
was the oldest of eleven children. After being married, her family lived in
Cogswell, North Dakota. In 1943 they moved to Vancouver, Wa. and Gladys worked
in the Ship Yards as an awesome welder. In 1944 they moved back to North Dakota and
then later moved to Billings, Montana in 1956 and then moved to Great Falls,
Montana in 1964 where she worked in a Nursing Home. After a few more moves to California and back
to Montana, the family moved to Boise, Idaho in 1976 and worked as a Nurse at
Saint Alphonsus Hospital where she retired in 2001. After retirement, she continued to donate her
time helping people in Hospice, Nursing Homes, Health Care Centers and family
members.
Gladys dedicated her
life to raising her 8 children and was always there to care for her
grandchildren when in need. The door to
her home was always open to anyone in need.
She had a Big Loving Heart for people and dedicated her life to helping
and caring for people.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 21, from 4 p.m.-
8p.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00
p.m. Saturday, September 22, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400
Fairview Avenue, Boise, Idaho. Burial
services will follow at Morris Cemetery
