GREGORY LEE YEHLE
May 14, 1954-August 29, 2014
Gregory Lee Yehle (60) resident of St. Maries, ID, died
August 29, 2014 at his home. He was born
May 14, 1954 to Ray and Laura Yehle in Wichita, Kansas. After Greg's family left for the military he
grew up in a lot of different places. He
received his GED at the age of 17 so he could enlist in the Navy at Twin Falls,
ID with his friend Jeff Shetler. He
served in the Navy Air Frames Unit with part of his time in Taiwan.
At the age of 22, he bought his first home in Boise,
ID. He married his first wife Sally in
1977 and their son Ryan was born in 1978.
He was divorced in 1981. He then
met and married Carol Williams in 1982.
They had Seth and Amber and made their home in Boise.
He worked for K-Mart in the tires and brakes
department. He also did mechanic jobs
from his home. In 1990, they divorced.
As a mechanic Greg established Greg Yehle Automotive and Gas
Station. When he was required to replace
the underground tanks by new emissions laws, he was forced to quit the
business.
Greg married Lou Ann O'Kelly in 1990 then divorced in
1995. He relocated to St. Maries in 2002
to work for St. Maries Concrete. In
2006, he moved to Texas where his oldest son lives. He worked for the Transportation Highway
Dept. He received an injury on the job
and in 2011 that required neck surgery.
While healing he moved back to Boise and later, another neck surgery was
required. Later he returned to St.
Maries to work on his new home.
Greg enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, camping, coin collecting,
and in his younger years, racing. He
also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who lived close by.
Greg is survived by his son Ryan Yehle of Texas, son and
daughter-in-law Seth and Stacie Yehle of St. Maries, and daughter Amber Yehle
of St. Maries. Also survived by his
father Ray D. Yehle of Meridian, ID, a brother Christopher Ray Yehle, of Boise,
ID, and sister Pamela J. Eames, of Whidbey Island, WA, and seven
grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned at the Idaho State Veterans
Cemetery in Boise, ID, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014.
