We are rejoicing that Helen peacefully went to be with her Lord Jesus on March 14, 2022, at the age of 102 years old. She was married to Ernie Ludwig for 64 years and has two daughters, Karen (Scott, married to Robert Scott) and Kathy (Geib, married to Dan Geib), seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great -great grandchildren.
Helen was born in Los Angeles, California to James and Ada (Cook) Thompson. She had one brother, Joseph, and two sisters, Ruth Remae and Virginia Louise. She attended Belmont High School in Los Angeles and lived in North Hollywood.
She and Ernie were married in 1938 in Los Angeles, later moving to Boise. Along with many individual achievements, Helen and Ernie were founding members of Treasure Valley Bible Church, Boise, where she was the wedding and kitchen coordinator for 20 years. They were also long standing members of The Silver Sage Porsche Club. Helen and Ernie loved to travel extensively throughout the United States and Europe creating memories to last them a lifetime.
Helen was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society and The Boise Extension Club. She was well known for her poetry and written works, her creative craftsmanship, an extensive collection of over 100 Ramekins (special little dishes), and her detailed attention to her Spirit -filled gift of hospitality.
Helen was a resident of The Cottages, Lochsa Falls, Meridian, and loved by so many. She was known as a Godly woman throughout her life, influencing others by her graceful spirit, her great sense of humor, and her love for Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Ernie, brother Joseph, and sisters, Ruth Remae and Virginia Louise.
A graveside service will be held at the Emmett Cemetery, 1205 N. Washington Ave., Emmett, Idaho, on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.
