Helena Ruth (Holmquist) Bright
of Boise, Idaho went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
July 20, 2015. She died of natural causes at 80 years of age at Emerson House,
surrounded by loved ones. Born to Philip and Verla (Moore) Holmquist in Idaho
Falls, Idaho on October 31, 1934, she was the eldest daughter and third
child in a family of five brothers and five sisters, all raised on the family
farm in Osgood, Idaho.
Helena graduated from Idaho Falls
High School in 1952. She married and had three daughters, Connie, Judy, and
Linda. In 1963 she met and married the love of her life, Paul W. Bright. They
moved to Boise and together made a home and raised the girls. In Boise, she
attended Links School of Business, managed Bright Advertising while her husband
served as Ada County Sheriff, and then worked her way up in the Idaho
Transportation Department to Administrative Assistant of the Port of Entry
where they dubbed her "Woman in Charge." In 1990, when her husband
died, she retired from the State to again manage Bright Advertising. Later,
after selling the business, she devoted her time to her family, and to the
Women's Ministries of Cole Community Church. Helena's entire life was defined
by her faith in God and by her trust in and love of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, a brother (Larry Holmquist), and several nieces and
nephews. She is survived by her children Connie Wolcott of Shelley, Idaho, Judy
