Herman Clayton Culver, 84, of Eagle, ID, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Cloverdale Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastors Bill Lindeman and Keith Canwell officiating.  Burial will follow in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel

Herman was born on September 3, 1928 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of Lemuel Culver and Henrietta Culver Neff.  He joined the Naval Reserves and then was married to B. Helen Storey on March 14, 1954 in Boise, Idaho.  They lived in Pocatello, ID, Boise, ID and Pendleton, OR before moving back to the Boise area.  Herman was a water meter reader and serviceman, working at Harris Pine Mills, Ash Market, Union Farm & Garden, Boise Water Corp. and St. Alphonsus Hospital.  He was also a book salesman.

Herman enjoyed recording on cassettes, dabbling in electronics (radios), did some carpentry and cabinet work, and helped with the building of the family home.  He also liked walking, visiting with others, literature, and giving away books.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife, B. Helen Culver;  son, William Bryan Culver;  daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Marie Culver LaMott and Doug LaMott;  sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Culver Zimmerman and Sid Zimmerman;  sister, Mary Culver; and sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl Neff Lindeman and Bill Lindeman.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Darlene Culver.
