Ida B. Vogt, 95, of Boise, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at home of natural causes.
Ida was born on November 30, 1915, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise. Her name was Ida Bertha Marguerite Weisshaupt. She was born to Adolf Gustave and Bertha Studer Weisshaupt, Swiss immigrants. Ida had three sisters and two brothers. She grew up in Boise and met her husband, Gene at a Swiss party in Nampa where weekly barn dances were held. They were married October 10, 1934 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise.
Ida always worked taking care of her family. She canned fruit, froze some and raised vegetables and flowers at the two homes that they owned. Ida worked with Gene in their business and after he retired they enjoyed traveling.
Ida was a fifty year member of the Unity Rebekah Lodge #8.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Vogt and his wife, Kathy of Council, Idaho and Robert Vogt of Boise; two sisters, Sylvia Weisshaupt and Barbara Arnold, one brother, Gus Weisshaupt, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 13th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
