Ilene E. Gimmel

Ilene was born on September 19th, 1934 in Boise ID at St Alphonsus hospital to John and Mary St. Clair.  She was the youngest of seven, and the only child born in a hospital.   She spent her childhood in New Meadows and McCall.  Idaho was home most of her life.

Ilene married Gayle L Buffaloe in 1950 and had two sons Claude (Butch) and Gene.  The marriage ended in divorce.

She later married Hank Gimmel, the true love of her life in September 1973.  They met while on Ski Patrol at Bogus Basin, where they were both members with national recognition.

Ilene was a woman who wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was.  She was an avid bowler, loved flowers and doted on her dogs. She and Hank loved to spend summers out at Lucky Peak on their boat, and enjoyed motorhome trips to Jackpot and to visit family.  Everyone that came to their home was welcomed and offered a drink.  She loved a good gin and tonic.

She is survived by her son Butch and his wife Peggy and their children, Matt and Sandy, daughter in law Yonna and  granddaughter Jessica, stepson Brian Gimmel and his wife Eve, and their children Ivy and Madeline. Also her great grandchildren Gavin, Gwen, Caleb, Kylie, Fred and Alan.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Ted, Sophie, Bernie, Tom, Terres, and John, her husband Hank and son Gene.
