Ivergene Dewey, 86 of Horseshoe Bend passed away at
home May 25, 2012 with his family by his side.
Ivergene grew up in Idaho around the Boise area. He married the love of his
life Collene Roy April 20, 1946. He worked various jobs before starting to work
for the Forest Service as a fire lookout on Thunder Bolt lookout. The following
years he worked out at Warm Springs Guard Station maintaining trails, packing
fish to high mountain lakes. From there he went to work for the Bureau of
Reclamation as a power plant operator. He worked at Arrowrock Dam, Anderson
Ranch Dam, and retired from Black Canyon Dam.
He farmed for 11 years at Montour before moving to Horseshoe Bend. He loved elk
and deer hunting, fishing and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife Collene Dewey, a son Darren (Kim) Dewey, a daughter
Doreen (Robert) Mullins, granddaughter Camaleigha (Joe), great-grandsons Adrian
and Gabe, and grandsons Kelly and Dustin all of Horseshoe Bend.
