Jack Lawson, 91 of Boise, Idaho, passed away Monday April 30
th
at home with his family at his side.
Funeral services will
be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Alder-Waggoner Funeral Chapel with a private
family graveside service to follow.
Jack was born May 11,
1920 in Nampa Idaho to Albert and Arlene Lawson. He attended school in the
Boise area graduating from Kuna High School in 1938. Jack worked for Burroughs Corporation as a
field engineer prior to entering the U.S. Army. He served in the
Philippines
during World War II. After his discharge
in 1946, he returned to work at Burroughs.
He worked there for nearly 40 years retiring in 1980.
Jack married Lozene Christensen on February 28
th
,
1941. They celebrated their 71
st
wedding anniversary last February.
Jack and Lozene loved to travel in their RV. He was very active in the Good Sam Club where
he held several offices including Idaho State Director. They enjoyed many years of traveling
including spending a lot of time in Garden Valley and many winters in
Arizona. They made many great friends
that shared their love of RVing. Jack
was also a ham radio operator (N7FZC) and helped with emergency communications
for many years. He was a lifetime member and Past Master of the Meridian Masonic
Lodge #47. Jack loved to tinker and had
the knack to repair almost anything. He was a truly kind person and always put
the needs of others ahead of his own. He had a great sense of humor and would
always keep those around him smiling.
Jack is survived by his wife Lozene, three sons, Jerry
Lawson, Tim (Sherry) Lawson, Dennis (Pam) Lawson, and a daughter Becky (Roger)
Corleone. He is also survived by 7
grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as two brothers, Stan and Carl
Lawson. He was preceded in death by two
sisters and a brother.
