Jack W. Thurman, 81, of Boise, died on Tuesday,
October 7, 2014 at home. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 12, from 4-6
p.m. at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held on
Tuesday, October 14, at 2 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery.
Jack was born on January 9, 1933 in Eagle, Idaho to
Earl Edwin and Inez Ilene (Whitney) Thurman. He attended Eagle High School and
played basketball there. He enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War and
was stationed in Alaska. He was married to Estle F. (Lee) and she died in August
of 1992. He married Nella Willhite in 1993. Jack worked as a lineman for Idaho
Power eventually retiring from there. He was a diehard BSU fan, and would
attend games rain or shine. He was a bowler, and was proud of bowling a 300
game at one time. He loved his dogs Cloe and Muffy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Estle; a
sister, Evelyn June (Thurman) Matthews; and a niece, Sharon (Matthews) Allred.
Jack is survived by his wife, Nella; step-children
through Nella, Kevin Willhite, Karen Sorelle, and Tammy and Paul Skinner;
step-children through Estle, Joyce Howell, and Cecil Lee; and many grand-nieces
and nephews.
