James Richard Tenhaeff of Boise, Idaho died

A
former Eugene resident, he was born August 16, 1924 in Quincy Illinois to Runa
Bacon Tenhaeff and Carl C. Tenhaeff.
He graduated from LaRose High School in LaRose,
IL in 1942 and enlisted in the Navy serving four years - two years in the South
Pacific during WWII. In 1949 he married
Jeanne Irene Krull. They later
divorced. In 1959 he enlisted in the
Army and in 1961 married Merry Lee Black of Reno, Nevada. Mr. Tenhaeff was posted to DaNang, Vietnam
during the Vietnam War and received the Legion of Merit for outstanding
service. He retired at the rank of Master Sergeant in 1979 then worked for the
city of Sierra Vista, Arizona as an animal control officer until 1989.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wives.
Mr. Tenhaeff is survived by his sister Marian
Trythall of Portland Oregon, his children Steven (Elaine) Tenhaeff of
Springfield, Oregon, Linda (Greg) Vik of Eugene, OR, Susan (Michael) Smith of
Boise, Idaho as well as ten grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 Sunday,
March 10 at Central Lutheran Church in Eugene.
