Jeanette “Jan” Myers, 87, of Boise, passed away on June 27, 2011 at a Boise
assisted living center.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family. Jan’s urn will be buried at Placerville Cemetery in Placerville, Idaho. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.

Jan was born to Joseph and Ethel LaVigne in Channing, Michigan on November 3, 1923. She married Don Mayer in 1941and was married for 27 years and then married John Myers in Michigan City, Indiana on May 30, 1969 and they resided in Michigan City and Coloma, Michigan and Boise, Idaho.

For 25 years she and John managed the Marquis Apartments in Boise. Her free time was spent at their Placerville cabin near Idaho City. She also enjoyed reading, writing and singing, and she was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges.

She is survived by her children and grand-children: Terry T. J. Mayer of Garden City and his daughter, Tricia; Don Mayer and Moreen of Trail Creek, IN, and children, Tami, Julie and Darren; Lawrence Mayer, of Union Pier, MI, and children, Lori and Diane; Sam and Bonnie Mayer of Union Pier, MI, and children, Robin, Shelley, Heather and Noel; Jane Mayer of Caldwell and daughter Jennifer; and Midge and Gary Buchanan of Boise, and daughter, Tatum; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Pongelak, of Santa Monica, CA.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John G. Myers; two brothers, Robert and Joseph LaVigne, and a sister, Nan Sabourn.
