Jo Ann Duvall, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on
July 1, 2015

A Celebration of Life will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral
Home, 5400 Fairview Ave, in Boise, ID on Saturday, July 11 at 4:00.
Jo Ann was born in Wilsonville, Nebraska on January 4,
1930. She was the eighth child to Orron
Nelson and Lula Blanche Bettis.
Jo Ann attended schools in Caldwell, Idaho graduating in the
class of 1947. She was a majorette for the Caldwell High Cougars. Jo Ann was a member of the “C” Club for
outstanding athletes and played all three sports - basketball, baseball and
tennis. During her high school years, She
won both State Tennis Doubles and Single Championships. Jo Ann played on various softball teams (slow
and fast pitch) and was a member of the
All Star Team, which won a state championship.. Jo Ann continued her education receiving her
Associate’s degree from the College of Idaho.
On March 28, 1951, Jo Ann married Charles W. Duvall in Caldwell,
Idaho.
They raised their three children in Mountain Home, Idaho. Jo Ann was employed as a legal secretary for
35 years for Hall, Rowett and Friedly in Mountain Home, Idaho.
Jo Ann was a member of the Mountain Home Jay-C-ettes, Beta
Sigma Phi Sorority, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, advisor for Job’s Daughter and a
member of Mountain Home ladies softball team.
For her 75
th
birthday, Jo Ann realized a lifelong dream by skydiving
for the first time!
Jo Ann is survived by son Brent Duvall and wife Barbara; son
Brian Duvall and wife Constance; daughter Charyl Ann and husband Jeff Jester; Four
granddaughters, Candace Duvall Smith, Lindsey Duvall Hopkins, Allyson Duvall
Richards, Alicia Jester and one grandson, Ryan Jester; Five great
grandchildren, Kira Smith, Alize Duvall, Ronan Smith, Gavin Smith, Oakley Grace
Jester and Emma Richards; She is also survived by her two sisters, Betty
Sanderson and Marian Forrey.
Her parents, Orron and Lula Bettis; five brothers John
Melvin, William Leroy, Ralph Glen, Lawrence Merle and Wesley Wayne; a sister Phyllis
Jean Allen and a great granddaughter Kelly Marie preceded her in death.
Jo Ann was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who thoroughly enjoyed life and loved
fully.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to
the American Heart Association 350 N. 9th St. #404 Boise, ID 83702.
