John Theodore Potts 1954 – 2016, 62, of West Valley City,
Utah, loving Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, and Great Uncle died June,
24, 2016.
John was born January 20, 1954 in Boise, Idaho to Donald T.
Potts and Wilma J. (Jean) Potts. John grew up in Idaho. John enjoyed his career
that took him to many states and Greece over the course of his life. John was
focusing on coming back to Idaho to finish his career when he passed away.
John’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family
and friends. He loved his time with his nieces and nephews watching them grow
up. He always had words of advice to give them and was proud of the individuals
they have become. He was just getting started on the next generation of great
nieces and nephews. John had a tradition of planting his Mother’s garden every
year on Mother’s Day weekend. He loved and watched over his Mother. And as he
put it so many times to his sisters, “I am your “only-iest” favorite brother”.
John had a loving heart and especially cared about children and animals. He
loved his cat family, Tigger, Casey, Jackson and Rose. Rose (Rosy) was the last
of John’s cat family and she will miss him.
John was introduced to hiking and kayaking which became
exciting to him. He loved taking road trips in his Corvette, on his
Harley-Davison, and especially in his succession of high end, decked out Chevy
Pick-ups. John enjoyed the nicer things in life. He loved entertaining his
family and friends along with going to movies, state fairs and doing yard work.
John is survived by his mother, Wilma J. (Jean) Potts,
sisters, Karen (Gene) Bellegante, Donna (Ken) Lloyd, nieces and nephews,
Raymond (Jen M.) Tyvand, Jennifer L. Tyvand, Jacob Lloyd, Earl Bellegante,
Terri Bellegante, Brandon (Jaynie) Lloyd, Victoria (Tori ) Henry, Trent Lloyd,
great nieces and nephews, Chase Tyvand, Quin Nichols Bellegante, Damon Henry,
Kirsten Henry, Hayden Lloyd, and Lyla Lloyd.
John is preceded in death by his father, Donald T. Potts,
his maternal, fraternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on both his
mother and father’s side of the family.
