John Wilkie

Earl John Wilkie was born April 12, 1943, in Guatemala City, Guatemala and went to be with the Lord August 24, 2023.

Born to missionary parents, Earl and Ruby Wilkie, John spent the majority of his childhood living in El Salvador, Bolivia and Uruguay.

John and Mary Ann Brueggemann were married on September 17, 1966, in Boise, Idaho. After pastoring five years at Snoqualmie Assembly of God, in 1971 they began their missionary career where they served in Chile, Ecuador and other Latin American countries. They planted churches, led Bible Schools, produced videos for theological education and television.

When John and Mary Ann retired in 2010 they moved to Boise, Idaho, where John started an extension program of Northwest University that he directed for several years until he retired for the second time. He also ministered frequently at Eagle Life Church where he attended.

John was a man of many talents and interests. He loved music and played several instruments.  He enjoyed singing in quartets and choirs.  Airplanes were a hobby, flying models, attending the Reno Air Races as often as possible and studying WWII aerial combat.  He loved to cheer on the next generation in teaching and encouragement.

Throughout his life John touched many people through his friendship, mentoring and training that will have an affect for all eternity.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, their son Mark and his wife Jennie, their daughter Anne Marie and her husband Christian, brothers Owen, Bill and Dan; their grandchildren: Jason, Isaac, Tamar, Anabelle, Sofia, Elijah, Elliana, and great-grandchildren Wyatt and Savannah.
