Juanita L. Penn

Juanita L. Penn, age 84, born December 3, 1936 in Boise, ID, entered the presence of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Saviour, on February 7, 2021. She passed peacefully surrounded by family. Juanita, born to Warren E. Brown and Estalene B. (George) Brown was from a long line of pilgrim and pioneer forefathers. Judge Jonas W. Brown of Boise was her great-great grandfather.

Juanita attended several different grade schools, North and South Jr. High, and graduated from Boise High School in 1955. She was active in sports, band and orchestra. Attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, OR where she met William L. Penn, whom she married on September 24, 1956 and enjoyed 45 wonderful years together.

Juanita was very active in music and women's ministries in Malheur Butte Baptist Church in Ontario, OR., also helping to start a new ministry there. Bill's work, Ore-Ida Foods, then transferred them to Boise where she became involved in many areas of Whitney Baptist Church. As her children grew up, she volunteered in their homerooms, on field trips, and in the Parent-Teacher Organization. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, landscaping, crochet, counted cross-stitch, sewing, reading, and traveling. Bill was her very best friend, lover, and husband. She delighted in helping others, particularly her family.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Penn, on November 13, 2001.

She is survived by her seven children : Lynn and Ross, Dan and Julie, Sandy and Bryce, Tamara and Max, Shawn and Cindy, Todd and Karin, and Susie and Gary.

Her fourteen great grandchildren: Tyas, Olivia, Noah, Jaden, Kai, Reyna, Anthea, Zoey, Marcus, Lily, Zane, Roeyn, Emma and Paeton.

And Her two younger brothers ; Larry and Sheri, and Jerry and Atha.

A viewing will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 W. Fairview Ave. on February 14 from 3-5pm. A funeral service will be held at Whitney Baptist Church, 2309 W Dorian on February 15th at 1pm with Pastor Dan Frank officiating. The service will be live-streamed at https://www.whitneybaptist.org for those unable to attend. Burial at Terrace Lawn - Cloverdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitney Baptist Church, in memory of Juanita L. Penn.
