June G. Goar passed peacefully at home Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
June was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on June 16, 1926. June was the youngest of a large family to James Brown and Laura (Mansfield) Brown. With exports diminishing during WW2, in 1942 June and her parents moved to the US. June was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed writing and reading poetry, creating casseroles for little league, singing, dancing, the theater, crossword puzzles, playing Bridge, gardening, roses, cats, and more cats. June had a “sparkle” that lasted her entire life. She was spontaneous; both fun and funny, radiating charm, warmth and empathy, but could also be fiercely determined and opinionated.
In Seattle, WA John Goar met and eventually married the love of his life, June. John always admired June’s joie de vivre. They lived in Seattle and Bellevue, WA where they raised four sons and a daughter. The two of them finally moved to Boise, ID, just prior to John’s passing on March 2, 2007. June’s kind-hearted soul and sweet spirit will always live on with those who were graced to know her.
June is survived by her daughter Marjie Goar-Keeney and son-in-law Greg Keeney of Boise ID, her sons Doug Goar daughter-in-law Pam Goar and granddaughter Tana of Carnation, WA; Randall Lee and daughter-in-law Jennifer Shen Lee of Gig Harbor, WA; Jeff Lee and granddaughters Ginele and Jenny of Milton, WA; Robert Lee and daughter-in-law Diane Sedlacek-Lee of Boise, ID, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special caregivers for the last 14 years Sharon Garvis and Karen Perrine of Boise ID.
The family is grateful to St. Luke’s Hospice for their services and care. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St Luke’s Health Foundation, 190 E. Bannock Street, Boise, ID 83712.
