Scott and June Hymas met at Brigham Young University. He had recently finished a mission to Argentina, and she, at the advice of friends, transferred from the University of Arizona to BYU after her first year. They went on to have two children and finish their educations, until he got a job in San Jose as an English Professor, and she found work there as a librarian. They had two more children in California, and they lived their life and raised their family there.
Scott Simpson Hymas was born October 27, 1930 in Liberty, Idaho, the second child of three from Simpson and Luella Hymas.
June Hopper Hymas was born September 14, 1935 in Scotia, New York, the first of 7 children of Jack Hicks Hopper and Olga Butler Hopper.
Scott and June had a love of reading and learning, and excelled academically. They also shared a love of family and gardening. After finishing their careers, they enjoyed travelling and staying with their 3 children with their families. Travelling the country with their dogs and spending time with their grandchildren was a highlight of their life.
We owe them our lives, and are filled with wonderful memories even during these last days of their journey here on earth. They were uncommonly gracious, kind, and thankful even during the difficult time of their last days.
They were united in this life for over seventy years and finished their journey within weeks of each other.
