Kathleen was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on August
26, 1926 and passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, in Boise, Idaho on
January 30, 2015.
Kay married John Guarino in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, in
August of 1948. John and Kathleen had
three sons, and lived in many different states, prior to settling in Boise,
Idaho in 1974.
Mom was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She kept a beautiful home and was an
excellent cook. She loved nothing more
than preparing a feast for her family and friends. After the boys left the nest, she became a
medical transcriptionist.
Mom was an avid reader and possessed numerous bookshelves
full of books, and had read every one of them, some two and three times. She loved to travel and went to Europe three
times while in her 70’s. Mom also loved
animals, the opera, the arts, and Jeopardy.
Kay was preceded in death by her son Chris, her husband
John, her grandson Daniel, her best friend Nadean, and her brother Bill. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Cyndi)
Guarino, Ted (Becky) Guarino, and their children Michael and Jennifer. She is also survived by her two sisters,
Sally and Nancy, and her three brothers, Jack, Ken, Joe, and all their families.
Kathleen will be deeply missed by all her family and
friends. However, we are so thankful for
all the fond memories we have of her. In
lieu of flowers we ask that you make donations in her name to, Zoo Boise, Attn:
Liz Littman, 355 N. Julia Davis Dr. Boise, ID 83702.
The family would like to thank the Drs. And Nurses at St.
Luke’s Boise for the wonderful care given to our mom, and us, the last week of
her life. We would also like to thank
the many friends and family, for their thoughts, prayers, words, and general
support, which was given in so many ways.
We are forever grateful to you all.
Due to mom’s desire for a very simple ceremony, her life
will be celebrated at a private family gathering at a later date.
