Kathleen Rachel (Thornock) “Katy”
Dingeldein passed peacefully Friday, April 18, 2014 surrounded by her children
and family. Services will be held May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the
Rosary Church, 1500 East Wright Street, Boise, Idaho.
The third child of six, Katy was born to Harold and Cecilia
Thornock on October 7, 1944 in Provo, Utah.
She lived in various locations until the age of 8 when the family
settled in Boise. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Pocatello and graduated
from St. Teresa’s Academy in Boise in 1962.
Following high school, Katy married Dennis Dingeldein and
the couple had three children, John, Regina and Jennifer, all of Boise. The
couple later divorced. She worked in the home until her youngest child attended
school, and then began her employment career working for: Dr. Bernard Strouth,
Dr. Michael Moriarty and Petrol Services. In 2002, she founded her own company,
Industrial Pumps and Air Systems, Inc., and served as president until her
passing.
Family was always important to Katy and she loved spending
time with them, especially her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed golfing and spending time at the
family cabin in Lowman.
A loving and
spiritual person, Katy was raised in the Catholic Church, where she was active
until her death.
She was involved in the
charismatic movement, and a founding member of Women Walking in the
Spirit.
Katy also attended services at
Vineyard Boise.
Survivors include her son John, (Barbe’) Dingeldein,
daughters Regina Dingeldein and Jennifer Dingeldein Smith, sister Ann Gauss,
Idaho Falls, brothers Peter (Paulla) Thornock, N. Las Vegas, and Joe Thornock (IvaLou),
Idaho Falls, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, multiple God children
and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and
brothers James and Robert.
