Landreth (Lanny) Wall, 72, of Boise, Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by his family on June, 11, 2016, after a long battle with lung cancer. Lanny is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Esther, son Michael Wall and wife Megan of Issaquah, Washington; Daughter Christine Thomas of Boise Idaho; Daughter TeAnna Kennedy and husband Tim of Durham, North Carolina; Stepdaughters Roberta Johnston and husband Blaine of Meridian, Idaho; Peggy (Ben) Scott, of Challis, Idaho; and Laurie (Brent) Watson of Eagle, Idaho, along with 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and long-time friends.
Lanny was born on July 19th 1943 in Wendell, Idaho to Marion and Lassie Wall. After graduating from Hansen High School in 1961, he served as a Hansen police officer. Lanny moved to Boise, Idaho in 1983, where he worked for the department of corrections at the Idaho State Correctional Institution. He later worked for the Boise School District until his retirement in 1989.
An avid outdoorsman, Lanny passed his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren, who share fond memories of camping and fishing in Idaho’s wilderness – his home away from home. He also enjoyed photography, especially capturing family memories, and hosting family and friends, particularly at the holidays when his homemade fudge was always in demand.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday (today), June 14 at 1 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise Idaho. A reception will follow at the home of Laurie Watson located at 3357 N Osprey, Eagle Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
