Larry C. Gregory, 64, of Meridian, Idaho went home to be
with the Lord on March 27, 2012 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Larry was born April 5, 1947 in Boise to
Clint and Irene Gregory. He attended
Boise schools and graduated from Boise High in 1965. After graduation he attended B.J.C. then
transferred to N.C.C. in Eugene,
OR. In 1968 he joined the Air Force
serving in Florida, Massachusetts, Vietnam and Guam. After returning from the Vietnam War in 1972,
Larry married Ralene Johansen and they later had a son, Rob, in 1973.
In 1979, Larry was married to his loving wife, Judy
Bonebrake. Theirs was a blended family
which included Shannon, Tara and Rob.
Almost two years later another daughter, Lindsay, completed the family.
Larry had a career in the trucking industry working in
management which relocated both he and the family on numerous occasions to the
likes of the Bay Area, Florida, Maine, S. Carolina and finally back home to
Boise in 1997.
Larry’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, photography and
reading. The favorite place the family
enjoyed was San Jose, CA. Sports were a
big part and the A’s, Giants and 49ers were at their best. Though Larry enjoyed watching sporting events
with his family, his biggest passion was his family and time spent with the
Lord. He shared his faith in his quiet
manner, but very openly with friends and employees.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the
wonderful VA nursing staff that took care of Larry for the last 6 years with
compassion and the highest level of respect.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, his son Rob, and his 3
daughters Shannon(Dale) Carter, Tara Hill and Lindsay Gregory as well as
grandsons Joshua, Justin, Jacob and Draven and granddaughters Rachel, Madelynn,
Sarah, Myah and Aiyanna, brother Michael (Jeanette) Gregory and sister Patricia
(Bob) Weiler as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Clint and Irene
Gregory and elder sister Marilyn.
