Lelace Virginia Coleman Gregory, 87, of Boise, died
Thursday, November 12, 2015, in Boise of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
November 28, 2015 in Cana Chapel, First United Methodist Church-Cathedral of
the Rockies with Rev. Dr. Steve Tollefson, Pastor Emeritus officiating. Inurnment will be in Etna Cemetery, Etna, CA
at a later date.
Lelace was born on April 23, 1928, in Etna, CA, to Avis M.
Robinson and Gilbert Payson Coleman II. She
grew up in Etna and graduated from Etna Union High School. She also attended the University of Pacific
and Stockton Junior College, and received a B.A. from Idaho State University
and a M.A. from the University of Idaho.
On August 29, 1948, Lelace married Dr. Robert T. Gregory in
Etna, CA. They lived in various places
including Etna, Visalia and Stockton, CA, Springfield, MA, Albuquerque, NM,
Pocatello, ID and Boise, ID.
Lelace had been employed at Jefferson Elementary School in Pocatello,
ISU's Lab School, and had also worked for 31 years for the Boise School
District as a teacher and elementary school principal.
Her hobbies include arts and crafts, abstract painting,
photography, singing, folk/ballroom dancing, cooking and baking. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and
was a world traveler. Lelace

loved an adventure.
She was a past member of Delta Kappa Gamma and AAUW, was a
member of First United Methodist Church-Cathedral of the Rockies, and was a
past volunteer at the Idaho Botanical Gardens.
Survivors include two sons, R. Bruce Gregory, Friday Harbor,
WA and Alan C. Gregory, Mtn. Home, ID;
one daughter, Gayle E. Healy, Boise, ID;
two sisters, Iva May Carlson, Yreka, CA and Nadine Roberts, Mtn. Home,
ID; two grandchildren, Brendan E. Healy
and Meredith E. Healy both of Boise, ID.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert T. Gregory and her
sister, Avis Marilyn Smith-Morris.
Memorials are suggested to the Idaho Botanical Gardens,
Boise Public Library or Boise Public Schools Foundation.
