Lillian Louise Spielmann was
born on October 11, 1923, Monroe, Wisconsin to Hedwig Denzler and Jacob
Spielmann, who were Swiss immigrants.
She graduated from Eagle High
School on May 13, 1942. She earned a
Block “E” for playing volleyball.
Her first job was an acre of
onions…the acre was given to her and it was her responsibility to plant, grow,
weed and sell the onions.
She went on to have a variety
of jobs before she enlisted in the United States Navy, as a Wave. She was Yeoman third class. She also had many interesting jobs throughout
her lifetime and we think being a telephone operator was her favorite one.
She met Harvey “Don”
Prudhomme in Hawthorne, Nevada. He was
also in the Navy. They married on November
17, 1944 and they had three children:
Terry Rae, Donna Marie and Michael Joseph.
She leaves behind her two
daughters, Terry Patchin and her husband, Mike; Donna Watson; and,
her son Michael and his wife, Rhonda. Left also to mourn, are her cherished seven
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews and her
friends.
She will be buried next to
her husband and sister, Ruth at Dry Creek Cemetery. She was also predeceased by her brother,
Alfred and her sister, Gertrude.
Funeral services will be at
10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel with
burial following at Dry Creek Cemetery.
