Lisa Gaye Matlock,
52, of Boise, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at home.
Lisa was born
November 5, 1961 in Pomona, California.
She was raised in California and received her education there. During her high school years she played Varsity
Softball and was a cheerleader. She was
very vivacious and outgoing and made friends easily, and still enjoyed her
friendships with many of her classmates from Ukiah, California. Lisa enjoyed living in Laguna Beach and
Ukiah, California.
Lisa moved to Idaho
19 years ago. While in Idaho her whole
life revolved around her two boys and their activities. She worked in a Day Care and then was a
substitute teacher in the Boise School District for many years, allowing her to
be close to her kids. She was a very devoted
mother. Her sons were her whole world.
Lisa worked as a cosmetologist in CA and ID. At the time of her death she was a
cosmetology instructor at Milan Institute in Nampa.
Survivors include
two sons, Steven D. Matlock, age 18, a freshman at the U of I, Moscow and Scott
C. Matlock, age 13, an eighth grader at River Glen Jr. High, Boise; mother,
Rollene Billings, Boise; father, Geof Billings, Maui, Hawaii; and an uncle and
aunt, Doug Caffey and Judy Caffey of Newport Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her former
husband, Douglas Matlock. Lisa’s only
brother, Steven Phillips died five days later on December 16, 2013.
A celebration of
life will be held January 5, 2014 at Foothill Christian Church, 9655 W
State St, Boise, on January 5, 2014 at
5:00 PM.
