April 29, 1965 – January 10, 2015
Lisa was born to Jim and Mary York on April 29, 1965 in
Laramie, Wyoming. The family then moved to Granger Utah where her little
brother, Richard, was born October 26, 1966.
Her first fishing trip was to Hattie Lake in windy Laramie at one-week
old. Lisa’s growing-up years were spent
in Juneau Alaska and Boise Idaho where she graduated from Borah High. She loved visiting her maternal grandparents,
Dick and Bernice Benham in Bruneau Idaho and her Auntie Eloise and Uncle Joe in
Cody Wyoming where she could ride horses, swim, camp and fish.
Lisa met and married Dana Ruzicka (another Borah High
graduate) where they made their home. Her children, Cory Dean was their first
born, followed by his lovely little sister, Kayla Jane (Janie Bird)— they were
her finest legacy.
Lisa later married Troy Henne n 2005 and have resided in
Boise since. Together they shared their love of their children, dogs, the great
outdoors, wild flowers, hummingbirds, aspen trees, the Owyhee desert, camping
in the mountains, and fishing the lakes and streams from Idaho to the Pacific
Ocean. She loved music and could
remember the lyrics and tune of any song she heard. Her most recent venture
into music was to learn to play her new ukulele. She could set up camp quicker
than Jack Flash, and she was incredibly good at everything she did. She was
artistic, smart, and beautiful.
Her sense of humor (inherited from her Daddy Jim) was
priceless. Her energy, honesty and work ethic were unmatched. Her motto was
“Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way.” Lisa had a diverse and amazing work
history, including Denny’s, Bogus Basin Trail Ride camp cook, Hewlett-Packard,
Boise Interagency Fire Center, T.J. Maxx/Home Goods freight coordinator (her
most recent pride of accomplishment).
Her beautiful spirit and soul will certainly make heaven
more interesting and fun! We love her
more than sunshine!
Lisa is survived by these beloved family members: spouse,
Troy Henne (Boise); her brother Richard, sister-in-law, Rebecca, nieces Sage
and Shakti and only nephew Phoenix (Portland Oregon); her children, Cory Dean (Kona
