Lois Ann Marie Treat (nee Noce), 82, died on Thursday, November 11 th , 2021 in Boise, Idaho. Lois was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, by her parents, Illuminato Noce and Frances Fatha Vigliaroli. She graduated from Fontbonne University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later received her master’s degree in modern European history (teaching) from St. Louis University. While teaching in California, she met the love of her life, Phillip Anders Treat; they were married in February 1968. She traveled to Holocaust sites in Europe, gave presentations at libraries and schools, and helped to establish of the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial in Boise. After retirement, Lois found much joy and camaraderie with her cohort of retired teachers in the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and Retired Educators Association of Idaho. She was President of the Boise, Kuna, Meridian unit of Retired Educators Association of Idaho during most of the pandemic and State Secretary of REAI for eight years. Lois also volunteered at the Morrison Theater for the Performing Arts, Love, Inc., the Assistance League of Boise, and Awana at Summit Church.

When not volunteering or teaching, she traveled. Phil and Lois enjoyed exploring American history in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC, and would travel as often as possible their favorite island of Kauai. Later in life, she traveled to Israel, England, Ireland, Belize, and Egypt.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Allison Marie Lekas (Michael) and Laura Ann Treat; her grandchildren, Alex Treat Lekas and Arden Lekas, all of Seattle, WA.
