Loren Davis
Skalsky, 78, of Boise, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
A memorial
service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Whitney United
Methodist Church with Rev. Christina Thompson officiating.
Loren
Skalsky was born January 2, 1934 in Ada, Minnesota, to Louis and Emma
Skalsky. Upon graduation from high
school Loren went on to attend the University of Idaho. On November 25, 1955
Loren married Kathleen Booth in Nampa. Loren worked for Idaho Power for 28
years, spending the last 7 years in Hells Canyon, and then retired and moved
back to Boise in 1993.
Loren was an
avid BSU football fan and travled to as many games as possible. He also enjoyed
woodworking, and volunteering at Whitney United Methodist Church where he was
an active member. When Loren’s children were younger he participated in Cub
Scouts and little League Baseball.
Loren is
survived by his wife, Kathleen Skalsky; son, David (Elona), daughter, Lori
(Doug), grandchildren, JD, Sarah (Matt), Nathan, Rebekah (CJ); and siblings,
LaVonne and Gary and brother-in-law William Booth. He was preceded in death by
his parents, sisters, ThelMona and son, Mark
The family
would like to thank Harrison Hope Hospice and the caregivers at Meridian Spring
Creek. Memorials are suggested to Whitney United Methodist Church or the Idaho
Humane Society.
