Lorraine
Lycklama Childers, 86, of Boise, died on Monday, December 21, 2015 in a local
care center. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 28, from 7-9 p.m. at
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. A graveside committal will be held at 11
a.m., on Tuesday, December 29, at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa, with a memorial
service following at 2 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Boise.
Lorraine was
born on June 10, 1929, in Stickney, South Dakota, to William and Jennie
Bearhacker Lycklama. She attended Meridian Schools and graduated in 1948. She
then graduated in 1951 from the Kaiser School of Nursing in Oakland, CA. On May
19, 1972 she married Charles Childers at the Meridian United Methodist Church. She worked as an R.N. at Kaiser in Oakland,
and General Electric Nuclear Lab in Livermore, and at the hospitals in Sun
Valley, U.S. Virgin Islands and Boise. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Boise.
Lorraine is
survived by her husband Charles and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, Herman, Diana,
Nellie, Lester, Jeannette and Donald.
