Lyle “Jim” James Walters, 59, of Boise, died Friday April
26, 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30pm Saturday, May 4
th
,
at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Jim was born January 11, 1954 in Kalispell Montana to Edward
D. and Delores M. E. Walters.
Jim attended elementary through high school in Kalispell
Montana. After high school Jim joined the Navy where he proudly served our
country from 1973-1978. He lived in Montana, Washington and Idaho.
Jim worked as an Ironworker for many years and attended
college in Longview Washington for several semesters. He enjoyed fishing,
camping and watching sports, he was always passionately rooting for the Boise
State Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.
Some of the special things we will remember about him... He
had a unique sense of humor. Jim could always find a way to put a smile on your
face. He was a lover of all people and animals. Jim was never quick to judge
and he quickly became everyone’s friend. Without question Jim would literally
give you the shirt off his back. He loved his animals as no one did, they were
an extension of his immediate family. His animals often enjoyed the same dining
experiences that he did. The past several years what made Jim truly happy was
spending as much time as possible with his grandkids. They truly were the
center piece of his life. He was the granddad of all granddads. Many would
agree if you could describe Jim in one word, that word would be AWESOME.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Angela Brown and her
husband Drew and grandchildren Noah and Naomi of Gilbert, Arizona; son, Joshua
Walters and grandchildren Madisyn and Maycee of Boise, Idaho; and son Edward
Walters of Boise, Idaho; brother Edward Walters and his wife Linda Walters of
Redwood City, California; sister Candy Smith and her husband Tony Smith of Las
Vegas, Nevada; his pals with paws Tiny, Ace, Chopper, and Zeke; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Delores; father Ed;
brother Richard, nephew Kristopher; his faithful pawed companion, Sissy; and
the love of his life Rebecca.
