Marcelle Shurtleff, age 98, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2014.

Marcelle was born in EI Centro, California, the only daughter of Ebby and Alice Wolmer, and sister to Walter Wolmer. She was raised in Pasadena, California and completed degrees in Business and Cosmetology.

She married Eldon Barr Shurtleff in 1937. Their four daughters, Marianne, Barbara, Loretta and Nancy were raised in San Gabriel, California. In 1956, the family moved to Santa Barbara, California. Twenty - five years later, Marcelle and "Barr" moved to Boise, Idaho, where Barr passed away in 1984.

Marcelle, Barr and family traveled extensively in the US, Canada and Mexico. Following Barr's passing, Marcelle returned to Santa Barbara and later moved to Hawaii, returning to Boise in 2003. She continued her love of traveling to many countries throughout the world .

Marcelle was an expert seamstress and was especially fond of animals. In addition, she loved the ocean and read extensively.

Marcelle is survived by her four daughters and three sons-in-Iaw: Marianne Baird, Barbara Bazeghi and husband Abbass, Loretta Lindstrom and husband Allen, and Nancy Katich and husband Bud. In addition, the surviving family consists of twelve grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She will be sorely missed by all her family and many friends .

The "Celebration of Life Service" will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 am, at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise, Idaho .
