Margaret
S. Turk, 79, of Boise was joyously received into the arms of Jesus Christ on
Saturday, September 22, 2012 after a sudden illness.
Memorial
services will be held at 6:00PM Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Pierce Park
Baptist Church. A private inurnment
ceremony will be held at Terrace Lawn Cemetery in Boise.
Margaret
was born on March 29, 1933 in Dixon, Illinois, the fourth child of Harry and
Stella Schmucker. After graduation from high school she married her husband of
nearly 45 years, George Turk, on October 7, 1950. She was a devoted wife and
homemaker, and she and George raised six children together. As George was a
career military man, Margaret was challenged with frequent times of
singlehandedly keeping the family going while he was deployed around the world
in service to this nation. Her inner strength and resolve provided her with the
skills to persevere in lonely and difficult times.
Margaret
was a skilled seamstress and took great pleasure in quilting. She delighted in
making beautiful quilts that she generously gave to the people she loved. She
was a Christian woman and an active member of Pierce Park Baptist at the time
of her death. Over the years she served in many capacities at numerous
churches. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person who cared deeply
for her family. Her faith was a continuous source of strength to her, and an
inspiration to her children and the people she knew.
She
is survived by three sons, Michael of Boise, Kelly of Boise, Paul of Baker
City, Oregon; two daughters, Jackie of St Joseph, Missouri, and Sara of Boise;
11 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband, her son Patrick, grandson Marshall, and granddaughter Stephanie.
The
family requests no flowers, but donations may be made to Pierce Park Baptist
Church, 5350 Pierce Park Lane, Boise, ID 83714.
Rest
in blessed peace and assurance, our very beloved Mother.
“Enough
for me that Jesus saves, This ends my fear and doubt;
A
sinful soul I come to Him, He’ll never cast me out.
I
need no other argument, I need no other plea,
It
is enough that Jesus died, And that He died for me.”
