Marion Ruth Rea, 87, of Boise, passed away Wednesday,
September 19, 2012, due to natural causes.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 25
th
at Calvary Chapel Boise, 123 Auto Drive.
Marion was born in Delia, Alberta on Nov. 7, 1924 to Mabel
and Omer Richardson. She was the
youngest of six children and grew up in Moscow, Idaho. She attended school in Moscow, including the
University of Idaho, where she was secretary to T. S. Kerr, Dean of the College
of Letters and Science.
Marion married Fred R. Rea on June 1, 1947 and moved to
Boise. After a year in Boise, a year in
Twin Falls, and 4 years in Grangeville, they bought a house in Boise and
settled. Fred worked for the U.S.
government as a CPA, and Marion worked for the Idaho State Department of
Education.
Marion loved music, bridge, knitting, jokes (especially
puns), camping, fishing, and playing her organ.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Rockies since 1955. Kind,
gracious, and loving, she selflessly put the needs of others before her own.
She was preceded in death by Fred, who died on March 18,
1994. She is survived by her four
children, Diane Petersen (Boise), Ronald Rea (Boise), Alan Rea (Overland Park,
KS), Lori Smith (Meridian), and ten grandchildren.
