Marlis
F. Ackerland, 69, of Boise, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 of natural causes at
a Boise nursing home with her family at her side.
A
graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Dry
Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Marlis
was born March 16, 1944 in Pasco, Washington, the first of eleven children born
to William and Beulah Ackerland.
She grew
up in Fargo, North Dakota until the age of 18 when the family moved to Boise,
Idaho.
Marlis
is survived by her daughter, Marilyn; two grandchildren, Amber and Andy; three
great -grandchildren, Grayson, Braxston, and Autumn;
her brothers and sisters, Bill, Sharon,
Janice, Darvin, Carol, Kathy, Tammy, Wanda, and Aaron;
and numerous relatives.
She was
preceded in death by her parents and our brother, Roger.
Marlis
was a very gentle, lady-like woman, who prided herself on her family.
She enjoyed family gatherings and loved
listening to early rock-n-roll music.
Some of her favorites were Elvis, Bobby Vee, Buddy Holly, and the Everly
Brothers.
She also
took interest in reading and study of the Bible.
A special verse that she would remember is
that of Psalms 83:18 where it tells of Gods Name, Jehovah.
Marlis
had a firm belief in the resurrection hope as held out in the Holy Scriptures.
Marlis
will always be close to our hearts and in our memories.
