Marlis was born March 16, 1944 in Pasco, Washington, the first of eleven children born to William and Beulah Ackerland.
She grew up in Fargo, North Dakota until the age of 18 when the family moved to Boise, Idaho.

Marlis is survived by her daughter, Marilyn; two grandchildren, Amber and Andy; three great -grandchildren, Grayson, Braxston, and Autumn; her brothers and sisters, Bill, Sharon, Janice, Darvin, Carol, Kathy, Tammy, Wanda, and Aaron; and numerous relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and our brother, Roger.

Marlis was a very gentle, lady-like woman, who prided herself on her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved listening to early rock-n-roll music. Some of her favorites were Elvis, Bobby Vee, Buddy Holly, and the Everly Brothers.
She also took interest in reading and study of the Bible. A special verse that she would remember is that of Psalms 83:18 where it tells of Gods Name, Jehovah.

Marlis had a firm belief in the resurrection hope as held out in the Holy Scriptures.

Marlis will always be close to our hearts and in our memories.
