Marvin
Glen Bean, 82, of Boise, died on March 27, 2012, and went home to his Lord and
Savior and to be with his wife and son.
Glen was
born in Stockton, Missouri on April 14, 1929, to Fred and Ollie (Anderson)
Bean.
The
family moved to Idaho in 1935 when Glen was only six years old. He graduated
from Melba High School in 1946, and was very active in basketball, baseball,
and football while there. Glen and Vera Fay Logan were married in Boise on
December 27, 1946. The couple lived in several Idaho cities, including Boise,
Caldwell, Pocatello, and Nampa. Vera died in 1998.
Glen
farmed for three years, and enjoyed 35 years with Idaho Power Co., eventually
retiring as the northwest region safety director.
He was a
member of the Kiwanis, Elks and Eagles clubs, and enjoyed making wooden yard
art.
He is
survived by daughters, Shirlene Faye Foster (James) of Emmett, Idaho, and
Jeanne Lynn Henning (Brad) of Meridian, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Sharon Kay Bean
(David, deceased) of Webbville, Kentucky; brother, E. Lee Bean, and sister,
Mary Mercer, both of Boise; and five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Glen was
preceded in death by his wife, Vera Fay Bean (1998), and son, David Ralph Bean
(2010), brother, Donald Bean and sister, Velma Mangrum.
A funeral
service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012, at Alden-Waggoner
Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lance Zargaris officiating. Burial will follow at
Morris Hill Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held on
Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

or the Northwest Parkinson’s Research Foundation.
