Surrounded by her family, Mary Ann Mendiola Morgan went home
to be with her loving creator Sunday morning, September 11, 2011. She was born February 4, 1943 in Boise,
Idaho, to Louis and Jean Mendiola. Throughout
her battle with ovarian cancer, she continued to inspire us all with her
incredible strength, courage and grace.
To know Mary Ann, you knew an open-hearted, kind,
generous, fun-loving woman that didn’t lack on the
mischievous side. Mary Ann was
completely devoted to her friends and family and always brought joy and
sunshine into every room she entered.
A lifetime resident of the Treasure Valley, Mary Ann grew up
in Boise and graduated from Borah High School in 1961 and then went on to
receive her Bachelors of Arts in Education from the University of Idaho in
1967. Once graduated, she and her husband, Gary
Morgan moved to Caldwell, ID where together they raised a wonderful family of
three children. Mary Ann always found herself amerced in a
project of landscaping or decorating, making her house a beautiful home for all
to enjoy.
After raising her family, in 1987 Mary Ann moved back to
Boise where she later pursued a successful career in real estate and became a
top-producing real estate agent receiving multiple professional honors
including the “Circle of Excellence” and
“The Diamond Club”. She had a
great talent and passion for photography and wildlife, and a deep love for the
mountains of Stanley Basin, a place of many family memories. Springtime found
her planting flowers to beautify every corner of her world. County-western-swing-dancing always put a
smile on her face and she loved picking up a grandchild and teaching them the
two-step every chance she got. Her
family and grandchildren were everything to her and she always made sure they
knew how much she loved them.
The past seven years were shared with her love, and significant other,
Dr. Swede Lisk. They enjoyed family,
gardening and traveling together. The
Oregon Coast became one of their favorite destinations to visit and recently
was the perfect vacation for their entire family.
She is survived by her caring fiancé, Dr. Swede Lisk, her
children Shannon and husband Scott Lisk; Gretchen and husband John
Naccarato; Matt and wife Colleen Morgan
and Mark and wife Jerri Lisk; and six grandchildren: Mason, Mitchell and Wyatt
Lisk, Tony, Joey and Olivia Naccarato, her sister, Florence Pierce and her
brother, Don Mendiola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Jean
Mendiola, and her brother, Louis Mendiola.
Mary Ann was strong and independent! Courageous and hopeful! She was a fighter and never gave up! She will
be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her!
