Mary Bernice (Bea) (Gulick) Kaster Gray went to be with her Lord on September 25, 2023.
She was born on November 8, 1924, in Filer, Idaho, to Mary and Foster Gulick. She attended Poplar Hill country grade school and graduated from Filer High School. She attended the University of Oregon.
On October 10, 1943, she married Howard J. Kaster. They farmed in Buhl, Idaho, then moved to Mud Lake, Idaho in 1953, where Howard worked for the Idaho State Fish and Game as a refuge manager. They were transferred to Parma, Idaho, in 1962, then transferred again in 1966 to Idaho Falls. Howard passed away in 1984.
Bea married Carl Gray in 1986. They lived in Queen Valley, Arizona, Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming, and Florence, Oregon. They enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their motorhomes. Upon Carl's death in 2009, Bea settled in the Boise area.
Music was extremely important to Bea throughout her life. At the time of her birth her father declared he would make her a singer, as she cried loudly upon her arrival. This proved to be prophetic; she went on to sing in many places. She also taught piano and voice lessons to students in Mud Lake, Parma, and Idaho Falls. She served as organist for several churches.
Bea is survived by her children, Judy (Bob) Holsclaw and Steve Kaster; her grandchildren, Denice (Paul) Cain, Dan (Victoria) Holsclaw, Andrea (Ryan) Sheridan, and David (Sarah) Kaster; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Cain, Morgan (Jenny) Cain, Braedon Cain, Landon Cain, Sage Kaster, Cora Holsclaw, and Asher Sheridan; sisters-in-law Barbara Borders and Peggy Gulick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Foster Gulick; her brothers, Eugene Gulick and Stanley Gulick; her husbands, Howard Kaster, Carl Gray; and an infant son, Robert Michael Kaster.
Special thanks and love to her care givers and friends at Edgewood Spring Creek at Eagle Island, and the All Care Hospice team.
