Born October 5, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the sixth of 13 siblings. Mary’s childhood years were mostly spent in the Midwestern states where her father worked as a stonemason after serving in WW1. Mary graduated high school in Hartford Wisconsin.
Mary joined the US Marine Corps in March 1951, joining her 3 brothers in military service, proudly serving stateside in the Office of Marine Records during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Her unit had the honor of marching in the inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower in January 1953. After her military service, Mary settled in California for many years. Throughout the years there were many happy family reunions with the burgeoning family members. She returned to Idaho in 1991 to be near her son and grandchildren. Mary was afflicted with retinitis pigmentosa and her eyesight greatly declined in the later years. She was privileged to get to spend her remaining years at the Idaho State Veterans home in Boise where she enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow veterans and enjoyed playing bingo until her sight no longer permitted it.
