Maxine “Marty” Varvel Crandall of Boise, Idaho passed away on April 22, 2016.
Marty was born on April 1, 1945 in Sterling, Colorado, one of seven children of Paul Homer and Norma Alice Northup. Marty’s father passed away with young children which left her to help raise her younger siblings. Marty met the love of her life working at a café in Arizona; Bob’s persistence landed him a wonderful marriage of 51 years as of May 20, 2016. Bob and Marty were blessed with three beautiful children; Teresa Armenta, Bobbi Fackrell, and Aaron Crandall. Marty enjoyed fishing, bowling, bingo, racing, antique shopping and talking and playing games on Facebook or anything that included Bob. Together they went on endless adventures from New York City all the way to Alaska, where they had their window covering business, Crandall’s Window Coverings. Marty loved talking on the phone. A day did not go by with out her talking to family and friends, especially her daughters and sister Evelyn. Saying goodbye was filled with endless I love you’s because she loved them so much! Marty had a soft spot in her heart for her younger brothers, Rick and Sam. She loved and cared for them like her own children and they made her proud to be there sister.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Crandall. Daughter Teresa and her husband Brian with a granddaughter, Allyzen. Daughter Bobbi and her husband J.D. with five granddaughters: Jenavy, Kenzy, Mallarey, Deedrey and Chloey and three grandsons, Jaaryn, Kayden, and Destyn. Son Aaron’s partner Sherri with two granddaughters Ashlee and Hailey and a grandson Mitchel. Brother Paul and his wife Pat with a niece Glenda and a nephew Paul. Sister Evelyn with a niece Clarrissa and a nephew Craig. Sister Patty with three nieces Jodi, Tammy, and Tracey and three nephews Rich, Scott, and Jim. Sister Pam with a niece Celia and a nephew Andy. Brother Sam with a nephew Christopher and Brother Rick and his wife Dora with a niece Samantha.
Predeceased by Marty’s pride and joy her one and only beautiful son, Aaron Crandall.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m., at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
