Michael Floyd Jolley Sr., 44, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in a Boise hospital following a brief illness.
Michael was born on July 4, 1966 in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of William Bryant Jolley and Carolyn Betts Jolley. Michael grew up in Southeastern Idaho attending schools there. He graduated from Butte County High School. Michael attended the Idaho State University before joining the United States Navy. While in the Navy he attended the Nuclear Field School, Naval Nuclear Power School, Nuclear Power Training Unit, Nuclear Institute for Nuclear Power Training. Following his discharge from the Navy he worked for Exelon Nuclear located in Illinois. He was recently employed by Caldwell Transportation Company.
On August 4, 1990 Michael married Carrie Lynn Hinkley in Pocatello.
He resided in several places including Idaho, Georgia, Florida, Washington, California, and Illinois.
Michael had many interests in life including, Search and Rescue, Math and Science, Nuclear Engineering, Research into Nuclear studies, and target shooting. His hobbies were woodworking, photography, genealogy, hunting and fishing and anything outdoors.
He was a member of the American Nuclear Society, National Rifle Association, United States Navy, Temple Riders Association
Survivors include his wife: Carrie Lynn Hinkley Jolley, Children: Danielle Reid Jolley Graves, Michael Floyd Jolley, Jr., Son-in-Law: Jordan Dean Graves, Brothers: Edward Bryant Jolley, Jason Del Jolley, William Cody Jolley, Sister: Carrie Dawn Jolley George and Brother-in-Laws: Kenneth George, Clinton Wayne Hinkley, Philip Michael Wassmuth, Douglas Anthony Wassmuth, Shawn Wayne Hinkley. Sisters-in-Law: Christine Mills Jolley, Jennifer Smith Jolley, Marcy Lee Wassmuth Burke, Trisha Wimer Wassmuth, Amber Grimm and Christina Rankin Hinkley; nephews: Jacob, Jared, Joshua, Mason, Matthew, Justin, Zachary; nieces: Alyssa, Emma and Anna, Kashia, Kayla, McKenzie, Taylor, Amber.
He was preceded in death by: Grandfathers: Delbert Reid Betts and Floyd Alfred Jolley. Grandmothers: Anna Wilcox Betts and Julia Madge Gardner Jolley. Aunt: Iris Colleen Betts Sandstead.
A memorial service with Naval Military Honors was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Boise. Bishop Paul McKnight of the Caldwell Second Ward presided.
