Mildred
Olive Hanes was born August 14, 1912 in Roanoke, KS to William Henry and Nancy
Ann Ward. She entered into rest on May 26, 2013 at Karcher Estates at the age
of 100. She was preceded into rest by her father, mother, two sisters, and
several great grandchildren. She was survived by her two daughters, Ella Marie
Wooten and Mary Ann Eells, five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and
several great, great grandchildren.
She attended school in Kansas until
she was a freshman in high school. She had to quit school because of failing
eyesight. When she lived in Kansas she worked as a switchboard operator. She
married Carl Wooten and had Ella Marie. Then she moved to Idaho in 1936. After
she had Ella Marie she divorced Carl. She later married Walter Farrell and had
Mary Ann. Years after she divorced Walter she married James Hanes. She had
numerous step-children with both Walter and James. While she lived in Idaho she
worked in the orchards and packing sheds. She also worked in various nursing
homes when she later retired.
She resided with her daughter Mary
Ann for 17 years. She moved to Karcher Estates in 2012 and lived there for a
year until she passed peacefully.
Mildred loved everyone and was loved
by all.
